Financial wellness made into feel-good app. Mazlo helps users make smarter decisions about their money through insights, goal-setting, and spending awareness. We partnered with their team to bring structure, emotion, and clarity to a product designed for everyday people—not financial experts.

The Brief

Mazlo came to Toasty Labs with an ambitious idea: help users shift from reactive spending to proactive money management. The challenge was designing a platform that makes financial information approachable, actionable, and emotionally rewarding.

We were brought in to lead product strategy, brand identity, and end-to-end UX/UI design across web and mobile platforms.

What We Delivered

Our Approach

We designed Mazlo’s experience to feel more like a wellness app than a banking tool—motivating without pressure, friendly without being fluffy, and intelligent without being overwhelming.

We built a visual language rooted in simplicity and clarity, then applied that across onboarding, insights, goal tracking, and spending categorization. Every element reinforces the core idea: progress over perfection.

Onboarding

We crafted an onboarding experience that sets the tone for users: uplifting, clear, and purpose-driven. Instead of front-loading complex settings, we walk users through small wins—like linking their bank account, setting a weekly goal, or celebrating their first categorized transaction.

We also designed ways to surface emotional signals—“You’re doing better than last week,” “This category’s trending upward”—to give users momentum and motivation.

Everyday Experience

Mazlo’s core product experience is designed for repeat use—not just a one-time setup. We focused on building a dashboard that surfaces the right insights at the right time—without overwhelming users with data.

From categorized transactions to subtle nudges and smart savings prompts, every detail is built to help users feel more in control of their money—every single day. It’s not just about what you spent—it’s about what you’re learning.
